Domino 8 Bug?

Is anyone else having this problem with Domino 8?

My Lotus Notes hangs if I try to open an nsf file without first opening the client. It hangs if I try to “Preview in Notes” from designer or if I try to open a .nsf file from the file system. It happens every time.

Here is what I see:

FYI - I am using Microsoft Vista (insert snide comments here).

I will browse the Domino 8 boards to see if there is a clue of what is going on. If anyone has an opinion please drop a comment.

    Yes, it is a known issue with 8.0 Standard. I posted it to the R8 forum on developerWorks already, and logged a problem report.

    I was hoping that wasn’t going to be true. I searched the forum for “freeze” or “vista” and couldn’t find specifics.

    I found that one person had the workbench error:

    I’ll keep playing with it. I hope there is some setting that I did to screw this up and I can just reverse it.

    It’s not just a Vista issue. It’s Notes 8 Standard. Here is my posting from the Notes 8 forum: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd8forum.nsf/ShowMyTopicsAllFlatweb/7d78418772d1f0c88525734700141938?OpenDocument . I spoke with some other people and they have the same issue.

    Charles. I read your problem but you’ve been much more lucky than I have.

    The Notes client flat out stops responding sometimes when I try to open it. I get the fancy blue background but it just hangs there. I spend a lot of time stopping processes just to get Notes to open up the workspace.

    I think I have a clue on why it’s happening. Sometimes… when I do get the client to load… I click on “Workspace” and I get an “Entry Not Found in Index” error. Then, nothing works.

    I’ve been talking to a colleague and we are both having the same issue. I’m getting ready to drop developing in the 8 client for a while.
